Dr. Shelby Loos, Veterinarian and Wildlife Conservation Director, presents Terra, a juvenile green sea turtle prior to their release on July 18th at Red Reef Park Beach in Boca Raton. Pictured wide-eyed at bottom left is Mateo Noriega, 10, from Hollywood Fl.. Terra was the first turtle to be rehabbed at Gumbo Limbo since March 2023. Terra, arrived on April 26 with fishhooks in a flipper and down its esophagus. After X-rays and sedation, veterinarian Shelby Loos removed the hooks. Terra was receiving ongoing care to ensure it was eating and recovering before being released on July 18th. Photo by Tim Stepien
