Ocean Ridge: oil on beach

On our morning walk we discovered one "tar ball" and about a dozen dime-sized oil nuggets between Anna Street and Beachway along the beach in Ocean Ridge.

There's no way to tell if this oil is a result of the Deepwater Horizon spill moving through the Loop Current and into the Gulf Stream or simply the bilge purging of a passing ship.

We'll keep watching and let you know.  I'll continue posting oil spill news as I find it at: http://thecoastalstar.ning.com/group/beachwatch

If you find similar oil on the beach, please let us know by emailing or posting on this page. Photos can be embedded or uploaded in the Discussion Forum on the Comment Wall.

Hope to hear from you. Keep the baby oil handy.
