Rob Baron stands among what he calls "happier plants." The storm brought them rain and blew the bugs off, said the city's dune management consultant and former Delray Beach lifeguard.

He pointed out that the sea oats still had their seeds, meaning the dune was not hammered. In a few days, the dune would look better than ever. The downside comes from exotic seeds that were blown into the dune, Baron said.
