Wow. The photos are great. Thanks for sharing. You are quite the artist! I bought a condo in Pirates Quay Hotel right after it was built in 1987. It is located on Silver Lake looking directly toward the entrance to the harbor. I am a pilot and flew to Ocracoke almost every weekend for over 8 years. My kids grew up there. I kept a 1948 army truck on the island and drove it every year in the fourth of July parade. I enjoyed many friends there including Mickey Baker at the Ragpicker, Buffy at Howard's Pub, BJ at the Slushie stand, Cee and Bob Touhy at the Island Inn, Robb (captain of the Pirate Ship), Ruth at Lightkeeper's Inn, and so many more. Unfortunately, my kids grew up and we quite visiting (they had other pursuits). I sold the condo to a friend who still owns it. I miss Ocracoke and will always have a piece of the island in my blood. Your mention of it is the first I have seen in a long time. I look forward to reading your work. I know you are a magical person.
