The recent global uptick in antisemitism has bedeviled and threatened Jews throughout the world, not the least in Florida. To be sure, many factors lay behind the rise of antisemitism; nevertheless, white nationalism today poses the most significant threat to Jews worldwide. This is because white nationalism has not only adopted the myths, racism, radical religious bigotry, and irrational attitudes towards the Jews but has also transformed the fear of minorities supplanting white people and Western civilization into an integral part of a transnational movement scapegoating the Jew as the force majeure conspirator. Significantly, White nationalists have exploited the Ukraine crisis to fan their antisemitism and deepen their transnational contacts. In this special lecture, Dr. Rabil will draw the ideological and practical connection of White nationalism to antisemitism and how they use antisemitism to spread their extremist ideology and enhance their power as a global movement.
