The Delray Beach Playhouse Presents TWELVE ANGRY MEN May 18 – June 3 By Reginald Rose Delray Beach, Fl - The Delray Beach Playhouse wraps up its current season with the gripping courtroom drama, TWELVE ANGRY MEN, the story of one courageous juror who wages a war of nerves with eleven other jurors to save the life of a 19 year old boy accused of murder. TWELVE ANGRY MEN tells the story of a typical American jury charged with the responsibility of deciding a first degree murder case. The circumstantial evidence against the accused seems overwhelming. Only one juror finds reason to doubt the evidence and to question a single eye-witness account. MICHAEL DeGROTTA plays Juror No. 8, a man unwilling to decide a boy’s life on circumstantial evidence. MARK HETELSON, TODD CASTOR and NICK VESER play jurors who are satisfied that the prosecution has proved its case. But eight other jurors are open to persuasion, and (as the play progresses) they find themselves torn between certainty and doubt. The cast includes ERNIE SIMON, MARC STREETER, NORMAN STEINTHAL, DAVID ZIDE, MICHAEL BEECHER and ERIC SALAS. TWELVE ANGRY MEN remains one of the most powerful and engaging courtroom dramas ever written about the unique virtues of the American judicial system. TWELVE ANGRY MEN opens on May 18 and plays through June 3. Evening performances are at 8:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday Matinees are at 2:00 PM.
