Delray Beach- The 2002 winner of the Florida Music Awards ‘Best Jazz Artist’ will be featured at the Arts Garage in Delray Beach on Saturday, July 9, as a part of the Jazz Project summer lineup. Paul is a key player in the South Florida jazz scene and has shared the stage with renowned jazz artists including Chick Correa, Chuck Mangione, Toots Thielsman, Ira Sullivan, Bob James, Bobby Caldwell, the Yellow Jackets as well as Tom Scott. Presented by Creative City Collaborative (The Collaborative), the Jazz Project was launched in May of 2011 to celebrate the art of jazz and as The Collaborative’s first initiative to put Delray Beach on the map as an international destination for live jazz in South Florida.
“We are thrilled to feature one of the hottest jazz vocalists in the region at the Arts Garage,” said Tom Carney, president of The Collaborative. “His performance will be a great treat for our audience.”
Since April, jazz performances at the Arts Garage have sold out to record regional crowds confirming that Delray Beach is a hot destination for jazz. Dana Paul expressed his excitement at performing in one of South Florida’s charming cities, “The fact that Delray is embracing jazz and present it in such a wonderful fashion is a glimmer of hope on the horizon for all jazz fans.”
Another great asset to seeing performances at the Arts Garage is its B.Y.O.W. (bring your own whatever) policy, where ticket holders are welcomed and encouraged to bring their own wine and snacks. Located downtown Delray Beach, the Arts Garage is quickly becoming an increasingly popular destination for South Floridians and visitors alike.
