THE IMPORTANCE OF TYING YOUR OWN SHOES

Director: Lena Koppel, Narrative, 100 minutes, Sweden; Swedish with subtitles.

When Alex finally gets a job as the leader of a group home for people with disabilities his outlook on life begins to change. Following a disasterous start, Alex starts to tune in to the warm and charming individuals in the group. Beyond their handicaps  they are full of dreams, spirit  and  unexpected talent. A new plan is hatched, instead of endless shoe-tieing lessons the group wants to sing in the nationally televised Talent Hunt .This is a deeply moving comedy with plenty of heart and soul.
