Combining winning experiences, shared values, and passion for outreach, the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County’s new men’s programming is building a fellowship of givers to champion the Jewish community locally and globally.Starting off with inimitable style, basketball icon Walt “Clyde” Frazier will hold court at the inaugural event on April 30 at 6:30 pm at Woodfield Country Club in Boca Raton. Long hailed as an NBA legend during his long career with the NY Knicks, and for his distinctive skills as a broadcaster, Frazier led the Knicks to the franchise’s only two NBA titles. An erudite, entertaining Hall of Famer, Frazier will bring his legendary “A game” to kick off the new men’s programs. The couvert is $85 per person including dinner and drinks, with dietary laws observed and no minimum gift required. Men who contribute $1,800 or more to the 2014 UJA/Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County annual campaign are invited to a special VIP Reception with “Clyde” at 5:30 pm. Woodfield Country Club is located at 3650 Club Place in Boca Raton.

The Federation’s new men’s programming is geared to inspire members to achieve lasting goals for the community while enhancing their interests, developing bonds, and becoming part of a philanthropic brotherhood who will together make a lasting imprint.

“We’re developing opportunities to engage men of all ages and experiences to aspire to become part of this new group as meaningful supporters,” said Stewart Kasen, one of the founding members of the men’s programming committee.  “We want them to join us and embrace our mission to get involved with Federation in a way that is significant and lasting.”

Goal-oriented, and inspired to take action, the men tipping off this new programming are creating a team of doers who will make a difference. Involved with Federation for many years, Peter Wohlgemuth is another of the group’s founding members. He’s energized by its plans for an exciting line up including sports, music, a mission to Cuba, gourmet food and fine wine appreciation - all providing opportunities to develop a strong, connected group of men who are building a legacy through Federation.

“You get what you give in the world. Federation is providing an opportunity for men to build a community of giving together. We want to attract people through shared, engaging experiences,” explained Wohlgemuth. “Our men’s programming will enable them to round out their lives and embrace Federation in a new way while creating opportunities to participate in outreach that will benefit our world now and for future generations. The potential for our group is very exciting on many different levels.”

The Evening with Walt “Clyde” Frazier is generously sponsored by South Florida Learning Center, LLC. The Boca Raton Observer is Exclusive Magazine Sponsor.
