WEST PALM BEACH, FL (September 7, 2011) – Just three months ago, Unity of the Palm Beaches,
a Christian church, moved from its South Flagler Drive home of 58 years to Temple Israel, the oldest
Jewish organization in Palm Beach County.

While some may see the two-mile move to 1901 North Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach as an odd
coupling of faiths, the spiritual leaders at Unity and Temple Israel don’t see it that way. So this
Sunday, the two will join in their shared sanctuary to commemorate a day that forever changed the
lives of all Americans.

The service on September 11 at 9:00 AM will include inspiring meditation, music and poetry. Unity’s
Senior Minister Rev. Rhonda K. Liles and Temple Israel’s Cantor Paul Offenkrantz will co-officiate.
People of all faiths are invited to attend the service.

The 9-11 event is the first of what is hoped to be many joint programs between Unity and the Temple.

“One of Unity’s core beliefs is to honor the common truths in all religions,” said Rev. Liles. “We see
what Judaism and Unity have in common – educating our congregants and a commitment to serving
the spiritual needs of our community.”

Founded in 1889, Unity offers practical, spiritual teachings that empower abundant and meaningful
living. Unity of the Palm Beaches was established in West Palm Beach in 1953 and helps people of all
faiths apply positive spiritual principles in their daily lives.

Temple Israel was founded eighty-eight years ago, when six Jewish families in West Palm
Beach decided to create a synagogue, which would inspire and perpetuate the ideals of progressive
Judaism.

Unity of the Palm Beaches’ Sunday services are at 11 AM. A variety of spiritual education
programs and workshops are also available. For more information, visit
