WEST PALM BEACH — Palm Beach Atlantic University's health sciences-themed summer camp is for students entering Grades 1-5, and its summer institute is for students entering grades 6-12. Both will inspire children to become passionate about learning science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Register at www.pba.edu/summer-science-programs.

Campers will investigate health sciences by exploring different aspects of human and animal anatomy and function. They will learn how a healthcare professional may help them. They will do this through lab experiments centered on vision, hearing, body mechanics, nutrition and cardiology. Faculty will lead the laboratory experiments, and counselors will lead students in activities outside the lab.

Upper-level campers in the institute will explore how the body works and how science can be applied to health care fields. In the lab, they will explore anatomy and physiology of organ systems, covering topics such as respiration, cardiology and body mechanics. With the help of the School of Nursing, students will have a hands-on approach to understanding applied health fields such as nursing and physical therapy.

PBA’s Center for Integrative Science Learning offers the summer camp and institute, which uses fun, unconventional approaches to show campers that science has constant applications in their daily lives.

Palm Beach Atlantic University is a private, independent university offering undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees, with campuses in West Palm Beach, Orlando and online. The University is dedicated to the integration of Christian principles to prepare students for lifelong learning, leadership and service.
