Tis’ the season for festive lights and sweet delights at the Historic Stranahan House Museum with the inaugural “Home for the Holidays” celebratory party on Wednesday, December 8 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. with cocktails, a grazing station of delicious hors d'oeuvres and more, including holiday cookies to kick-off the season.

Chaired by Stranahan Board Member LaurieAnne Minoff, Home for the Holidays will feature a silent auction and raffle filled with holiday gifts, gift cards, excursions, gift baskets and more all amid the glow of elegant Victorian era displays, twinkling lights and festive decorations. Costumed docents will lead tours through the exquisitely decorated, picture-perfect Stranahan House. There might even be a special jolly guest.

“Home for the Holidays is a great opportunity for all of us to have some fun, network and support a great cause,” said Minoff. “We want everyone to get in the holiday spirit and enjoy this this magical time of year with us.”

Tickets are $50 per person with 100% of proceeds benefiting the education programs and historic preservation of the Historic Stranahan House Museum. Built in 1901,
the Stranahan House is the oldest and most historic home in Broward County and served as the birthplace of the local community. The mission of the museum is to tell the story of the birth of our community through the lives of two extraordinary people, Frank and Ivy Stranahan, and the homestead they created and to serve as an enduring legacy for historic preservation.

“Instead of hosting our traditional Holiday Hangover, we are celebrating the holidays in advance,” said Stranahan House Executive Director April Kirk. “We appreciate the generosity of our local restaurants that donated to us during Holiday Hangover and look forward to working with them again in the future.”
