Celebrate the silver lining in life’s situations through Shawn Welcome’s narrative performance, “Welcome to My World.” His up-to-the-minute, poetic and heartfelt stories capture his life as a first-generation Afro-Guyanese American. Shawn Welcome has been actively engaged in Orlando community performance work since 2006, with the launch of a poetry and life skills program for youth offenders and the founding of the “Diverse Word” weekly open mic at Dandelion Community Café. He has traveled the country motivating people with his gift of words, written commercials for the Orlando Magic, done voice-overs for Full Sail University, and performed in countless faith-based functions.
