Start Me Up brings to the stage a high energy, authentic performance of the Rolling Stones. The look and sound of Start Me Up is the closest thing to being at an actual Rolling Stones performance. From the moment the band takes the stage to the final song, the audience is on their feet dancing and singing to dozens of timeless Rolling Stones anthems.

PERFORMER BIOS:

Marc Lichtenfeld – A former actor, Marc appeared on stage in New York and San Francisco in shows including: Slasher, the Splatter Rock Musical and the stage premier of Last Exit to Brooklyn. When not performing as the world’s greatest rock singer, Marc is a two-time best-selling author and the only Mick Jagger impersonator to ring announce world championship boxing and MMA matches on ESPN, HBO, and Showtime.

Shannon Brink – Shannon’s parents bought him a guitar at age 11, and he was immediately obsessed. By the time he turned 18, Shannon had moved to Las Vegas where his band had a record contract and was supporting a nationally released CD. Since moving to Florida, Shannon has played in several successful bands and in great venues, including opening for Charlie Daniels with the Emily Brooke Band.

Ron Hersey – A Florida native, Ron credits his parents, who were gospel singers, for his love of music. His father, a guitarist, showed him how to play and his mother taught him to harmonize. Hersey began singing in the church choir at an early age. It wasn’t long before Rock and Roll beckoned and at fifteen Ron began performing live in his own band. Over the years, Hersey has shared the stage with many popular recording artists including: Toby Keith, Three Dog Night, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, and many others. Ron is a long time South Florida Radio personality who can be heard on Hubbard Broadcasting’s Palm Beach radio stations.

Scott Borgmeyer – Appearing as bassist Bill Wyman, Scott is a South Florida Native who began taking piano lessons at the age of 5. After dabbling with the piano, drums and lead guitar, Scott realized he has “sausage fingers”, and was better suited for the bass guitar. After high school, for many years, Scott primarily focused on his career in Corporate Finance, but ultimately returned to his passion of playing music. “The Rolling Stones are one of my favorite bands and I’m super excited to be playing alongside such a tremendous assemblage of musicians and singers”

Mike McCurdy – Mike McCurdy, a.k.a. “Irishmac”, brings his Irish roots to Start Me Up! Behind his keyboards for over 40 years, Mike was born in Washington D.C. and raised in an Irish Pub where he spent his days listening to B.B., Otis, Chuck Berry, Sam and Dave, and a host of others. Since moving to South Florida in 1985, playing in a number of bands and retiring from his profession in education, he continues to provide his unique style of driving keyboards for Start Me Up, adding the R&B influence that birthed Rock and Roll, to the music of the Rolling Stones.

Sean Leahy – Composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist, Sean Leahy is thrilled to be pulling saxophone and auxiliary percussion duty with Start Me Up! Sean has been a gigging musician for over 30 years performing every style you can probably think of. Sean has a degree in jazz music but is excited to get back to his roots in Rock and Pop Music. And the late, great Bobby Keys is providing plenty of inspiration!

Guy Abaldo – Guy started playing drums at the young age of 10 and by 17 was playing in Las Vegas in a band with his brothers that also traveled throughout the US and Canada. He finally settled down in New York for twenty-five years playing four nights a week plus working a professional day job. Years later when Guy moved to Florida and connected with the greatest Stones tribute band – Start Me Up.

Astrid Voxx – A New Yorker from birth and at heart, Astrid Voxx honed her skills in Miami Beach High’s Rock Ensemble then with the University of Miami’s Honor Choir. Learning drums and guitar was inevitable and would forever be a part of her musical arsenal. Her talent and experience have won her opportunities to sing on tour with Jimmy Buffet, appear on Star Search, write a video for an 80’s dance hit-“Serious”, act on Primal Rage, Any Given Sunday, Death Match, Miami Vice and do cartoon voices for PBS and national radio commercials
