Downtown Lake Worth will be jumping & jiving and THE place to go for a summer evening of family fun on Friday July 16 from 6:00 PM-10:00 PM. The Downtown Cultural Alliance Merchant Association is continuing their Patriotic Celebration that got slightly rained-out July 3rd and is bringing back Bands, Musicians, and vendors. The theme for the evening is still “PATRIOTIC” but it is now extended to ALL Nationalities – not just the Red/White & Blue! The All Nations Patriotic Downtown Explosion will be held on “J” Street from 6:00 pm – 10:00pm on Friday July 16 and will offer a Stage Area for live music and vending area for local art & crafters. Adults can show their Patriotism for ANY Nation and enter contests that include: “Wildest Patriotic Costume”; “Most Patriotic Hat”; and “Best Original Handcrafted Funky Hat. Children can enter the “Child Patriotic Costume Contest” and Pets can be entered in the “Patriotic Pet Costume Contest”. A night in Lake Worth that also has “Party in the Plaza” at the Cultural Plaza and the Lake Worth Playhouse’s production of “RENT” surely make downtown a fun destination for a lively Friday Night in Lake Worth.
Live Music - Musicians that were previously rain-out on July 3rd will be returning to perform on the Patriotic Downtown Explosion “Joy” Stage sponsored by “Dolce Vita Wine Bar”, “Shamanstick Productions” and “Pure Audio” and will include “Positively Africa” (World Beat Reggae Funk), “Jesse Bauman” (Americana folk); “Wayside Flyer” (Bluegrass); and “Black Weather Shaman” (Swamp Americana). And if that’s not enough, music lovers can also check out “Roots Shakedown” at Party in the Plaza at the Cultural Plaza on “M” Street or live music playing inside at Brogue’s, Igot’s Martiki Bar, Rum Shack, South Shore Tavern, or maybe even Havana Hideout all downtown local favorite establishments.
Arts and Crafts made by local artists will have tables and tents set up along “J” Street and display a wide variety of wares for sale from jewelry and t-shirts to paintings. Vendors returning for this “All Nations Patriotic Explosion” include: Kathleen Frascona - Handmade Sterling Earrings; Skullalicious - Skull Wear & Skull Related Items; Gary Antieau - Yard Art & Wood Work; Various Artists from the Pupils Collective; Noell Coons - Fine Handcrafted Jewelry & Accessories; Sharonna Misha – Collage & Mixed Media Artist; Mr. Lynns Crafts – Glass, Jewelry & Wood Burning; Becca’s Bakeshop – Gourmet Baked Goodies; Not Fade Away Tie Dye T-Shirts and Jane Kamau – African Influenced Jewelry just to name a few of the returning vendors.
