"The Church of the Palms in Delray Beach is once again joining with the City of Delray Beach to gather much-needed items for Holiday shipment to our military men and women overseas. A request is being made for donations of the following items: Christmas and Holiday decorations; bags of hard, individually-wrapped candy (no chocolates except for Tootsie Rolls); Tootsie Roll Pops; Charm Pops; snacks that can easily be put into their pockets while on duty; gum; beef jerky; Slim Jims; pepperoni or similar dried meats; boxes of Granola Bars or similar individual bags of nuts; dried fruit; trail mix or sunflower seeds; boxed and/or individual drink packets; foil-packed tuna and chicken; crackers; hot chocolate; non-perishable food items; Thermoguard pads (heating pads); sun block; lip balm; baby wipes (no bigger than 2 1/2" wide packages); Purell hand sanitizer; hand lotion; batteries (AA or AAA); small Holiday knick-knacks (pre-packaged or boxed to avoid breakage); foot powder; deodorant; toothpaste; socks (white or black knee-hi); phone cards (AT&T); disposable cameras; used CD's, DVD's (no VHS tapes or cassettes); personally-written letters or notes; signed Holiday cards.
To make a monetary donation to help pay for postage and calling cards, please make check payable to "Project Holiday."
Please deliver your donations to the office of the Church of the Palms, 1960 N Swinton Ave, Delray Beach 33444 no later than Friday Nov 6 so that packages can be received by overseas military units prior to Christmas Day.
