Clock Ticking for Pie Orders to Benefit FAU’s Jaffe Center

The deadline is Oct. 3 to order pies from Florida Atlantic University’s Arthur and Mata Jaffe Center for Book Arts, which is again teaming up with the world-famous Upper Crust bakery of Lake Worth to raise money for the center. You can buy a 9-inch fresh-baked deep-dish pie in fruit, cream or meringue and there is also a sugar free option. Thirty-two fillings, including pumpkin, peanut butter, mixed berry and black bottom rum are available. Each pie costs $20 and $10 of each sale will benefit the Jaffe Center. Pies must be picked up at the center, which is located on the third floor of the Wimberly Library, on Friday, Oct. 10, from noon to 6 p.m. The center’s print shop will be open and visitors can print a pie-themed letterpress print as a souvenir. To order pies, call 561-297-4189 or email ebush3@fau.edu. For more information, go to www.jaffecollection.org and click events. This is the third pie sale the Upper Crust and the Jaffe Center have co-sponsored to benefit the center.
