Long a staple in the scene-study classes of America’s greatest acting teachers, this is a play now largely forgotten by producers and directors and, therefore, rarely staged. Rose Frobisher, a former beauty queen and failed movie actress, lives vicariously through the young women she tries to nurture to stardom at her boarding house, Rose Garden. She has failed with her daughter, Lila, and has turned her attention to a succession of others, including her unstable new boarder, Barbara Parrish.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Oct. 8-10 and 2:00 p.m. Oct. 10
