A Fundraiser for Our Children’s Theatre
Playhouse audiences responded so warmly and so enthusiastically this year to our production of ALWAYS, PATSY CLINE, we asked the two stars of the show to reprise their roles for a very special New Year’s Eve and Encore program we’re calling “HAPPY NEW YEAR!”…PATSY CLINE! The Encore performances are on January 3rd at 2:00pm and 8:00pm and all proceeds benefit our Children’s Theatre. Tickets are $30.
In the musical ALWAYS, PATSY CLINE, we learned about the friendship that developed between the legendary country singer and one of her earliest and most ardent fans, a Texas housewife named Louise Seger. After their very first meeting, these two wives and mothers gradually realize how much they had in common, even though one was a celebrated recording star and the other a working housewife.
LISA MILLS will recreate her role as “Patsy Cline” and C.C. CURRIE will recreate her role as “Louise Seger.” Together with Playhouse friends and family, they will present a full program of popular songs that Patsy Cline either recorded (or performed) during her career. You’ll hear Patsy Cline favorites like “Crazy” and “Sweet Dreams”…as well as popular standards like “Anytime,” “True Love” and (appropriately for New Year’s Eve) “As Time Goes By.”
