Palm Beach Opera to Present Free Performance

of American Opera at CityPlace

Palm Beach Opera presents Trouble in Tahiti by Leonard Bernstein as part of the annual One Opera in One Hour series on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 9:00 PM at the Harriet Himmel Theater in CityPlace.  Admission is free and no tickets are required. It will also be streamed live on the web and can be viewed at www.pbopera.org.

This concert is the second of the 2010-2011 season of One Opera in One Hour events which feature Palm Beach Opera’s Young Artists performing one hour versions of operatic works with musical highlights and piano accompaniment.  Trouble in Tahiti is 45 minutes in length and will be performed in its entirety.

“After our successful Baroque opera in January, we’re thrilled to continue this season’s exploration of non-standard repertory with Trouble in Tahiti” said Daniel Biaggi, Palm Beach Opera’s General Director. “Bernstein’s jazzy opera, which poignantly illustrates a young couple’s incapability to genuinely communicate with each other, provides an excellent opportunity for role study and self-evaluation to our audience and Young Artists alike.”
