PAINT UP DELRAY INVOKES COMMUNITY PRIDE AND UNITY The City of Delray Beach Community Improvement Department takes great pride in announcing the return of Paint Up Delray, an exterior house painting project that invokes community pride and unity. City staff, residents, organizations and businesses volunteer their time to enhance the outward appearance of homes at no cost to the homeowners. This year's event is scheduled for Saturday, March 27th, beginning at 7:00 am. Approximately ten (10) homes in the Delray Beach Heights neighborhood, located in the southwest section of the City, will benefit from this worthwhile effort. For over a decade the City's Community Improvement Department has sponsored Paint Up Delray, resulting in the painting of more than 100 homes. A City neighborhood is selected each year with a particular focus on the homes of the elderly and/or low income families. The City provides funding for pressure cleaning, paint and supplies, and is seeking 200 people to volunteer in this year's project. Breakfast, lunch and t-shirts will be given to participants as supplies last. Those interested in volunteering are requested to sign up by March 15th by contacting the Community Improvement Department at (561) 243-7228 or E-Mail: costello@mydelraybeach.com One day really does make a difference!
