The Nova Singers will celebrate American composers (and a popular British friend) in their upcoming concert series “Blue Skies and Jubilant Songs.”
The program will explore the variety of American music, from Broadway to Hollywood to the American Songbook to spirituals. The concert also will include music from “The Lion King,” by Sir Elton John, a favorite composer from Great Britain.
The chorus, under the direction of Chuck Stanley, will be accompanied by pianist Anthony Ciotti and other instrumentalists.
The concert will be performed three times, in three different venues:
- Friday, May 17, 8 p.m. Taft Street Baptist Church, 7241 Taft Street, Pembroke Pines 33024.
- Sunday, May 19, 4 p.m. First Presbyterian Church, 33 Gleason Street, Delray Beach 33483.
- Tuesday, May 21, 7:30 p.m. St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 580 Indian Trace, Weston 33326.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Children 12 and younger, plus students any age with school ID, are admitted free. Advance tickets are available at https://tinyurl.com/NovaMay24Concerts.
