The world premiere of “Not In My Town,” a musical drama telling the story of best friends Matthew Shepard and Romaine Patterson, takes the stage at University Theater at Florida Atlantic University’s Boca Raton campus. Tickets: $20, via OperaFusion.org. “Not In My Town,” written by Fort Lauderdale composer and librettist Michael W. Ross, is the story of the events surrounding the 1998 murder of Shepard, the gay Wyoming college student who was beaten and left tied to a fence. Meet the singers from Opera Fusion and the Opera Fusion Orchestra afterward. The show is the culmination of the university’s celebration of International Peace Week 2016.
