Can you join us to call on our leaders to move the world beyond fossil fuels?

Join us this Saturday, September 24th at 4:00 pm in downtown Lake Worth we will have a Moving Planet event.  “Moving Planet” is a worldwide day of action for solutions to climate change with hundreds of thousands of people moving with fossil fuel-free modes of transportation.  Lake Worth will join 2,000 events worldwide to call on our leaders to Move Beyond Fossil Fuels.

WHAT: The march in Lake Worth will include people on foot, bikes, skateboards, roller blades, and other means of sustainable fossil free movement.  The march will commence at City Hall and end at The Cottage restaurant.  We will send a clear message to President Obama that it's time to take a stand against the Keystone XL pipeline and to put our demands for climate action into motion by calling for a world beyond fossil fuels.  We are collecting letters and petition signatures to send to the President to ask him to make the right decision and reject this pipeline.

WHO: Community members, 350.org members, Greenpeace volunteers, Ian Somerhalder Foundation supporters, students, and families who want to see common sense solutions to climate change.

*Guest Speaker: Representative Mark S. Pafford, of District 88 will commence the march by inspiring attendees to action.

*Greenpeace volunteer Nicolas Samios will close the event at The Cottage by speaking to attendees about the Tar Sands Action.

WHAT TO BRING: Please bring posters, banners, mini-wind turbines, and water.

WHAT TO WEAR: You may wear Obama pins, stickers, and/or shirts.

Please join us this Saturday, September 24th in Lake Worth to send this message to our President.
