The Boca Raton Public Library is pleased to host an information event for veterans at the Downtown Library on November 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Military Intel provides veterans and their families with three sessions to learn about their benefits, counseling, and job search assistance from the following:

Claire Eberhart, Veterans Outreach Specialist, Pompano Veterans Center

Vet Centers guide veterans and their families through many of the major adjustments in lifestyle that often occur after a return from combat. Services may include individual and group counseling in areas such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), alcohol and drug assessment, and suicide prevention referrals. All services are free of cost and strictly confidential.

Andrew Reese, Veteran Service Officer, Army (Ret), PBC Division of Human & Veteran Services

Human & Veteran Services assists and counsels former and current members of the Armed Forces who reside in Palm Beach County. Services include assistance in preparing and filing claims for benefits for which they are entitled under federal, state, and local laws. Dependents and survivors of present or former members of the Armed Forces may be eligible for the services of this program.

James Tapscott, Disabled Veteran Outreach Program Specialist, Air Force (Ret), CareerSource PBC

CareerSource provides priority service for U.S. military veterans with a variety of services, including job search and resume workshops; career counseling; on-site recruitment; use of computers, copiers, and fax; labor market information; and programs for persons with disabilities.

“There are many programs and benefits available for our veterans, young and old, but many do not know where to go or what to look for,” notes Laura Sparrow, Navy (Ret), Head of Account Services. “Having these three organizations in one place to provide information and answer any questions is extremely beneficial for our veterans and their family members.”

Each organization will present for 20 minutes followed by Q&A. Enroll in this free program through the calendar at bocalibrary.org.
