Getting the Most from Your Digital SLR Camera

Join Julie Adair King, the best-selling author of Digital Photography For Dummies and many other digital photography and imaging books, for this fun and informational seminar. Julie will cover the basics of digital photography to help you understand how your camera works; she will explain key principles of focus, exposure, and composition; and share special shooting tips and strategies. Whether you are new to photography or just want to sharpen your skills, this seminar will show you how to take advantage of camera options that enable you to manipulate focus, exposure, and color to suit your personal vision.

JULIE ADAIR KING is the best-selling author of Digital Photography For Dummies and many other digital photography and imaging books. Her most recent titles include a popular series of "For Dummies" guidebooks to Nikon and Canon digital SLR cameras. Other recent works include “Digital Photo Projects For Dummies”, “Digital Photography Before & After Makeovers,” and “Julie King’s Everyday Photoshop For Photography.” In addition to writing, Julie teaches digital photography and digital retouching workshops and is the author/producer of the instructional DVD Adobe Photoshop Elements for the Family Photographer.

Social Media for Photographers

This workshop will provide an overview of how photographers can successfully use social networking sites to their advantage. Learn how to structure your website and your blog as well as which networks are best to focus your attention on.

SHANE SROGI is the newest staff instructor at Palm Beach Photographic Centre. Shane has been recently recognized by PhotoShelter as "social media obsessed" in "The Photographer's Social Media Handbook." He has been a professional photographer for 20 years with commercial clients including REI, the History Channel, and The X-Files. He has photographed in 48 of the 50 states. While working for a wolf reintroduction project he had a wolf nip at his lens.
