Pianist and composer, Marcus Roberts, has been hailed “the genius of the modern piano.” His life and work have been profiled on a segment of the renowned CBS News television show, 60 Minutes (“The Virtuoso,” 2014).
Roberts founded his trio in 1995. From the beginning, his goal was to create and refine an entirely new style of jazz. More than 20 years later, the trio has come to be known around the world for its powerfully complex rhythmic and melodic improvisational style.
