The Doobie Brothers are one of the most iconic Classic Rock bands of all time, having sold millions of albums and topping the charts with great hit songs such as China Grove, Long Train Running, What a Fool Believes, Black Water and, of course, Listen to the Music. After five decades, their music is still in heavy rotation on Classic Rock radio stations world wide.

LISTEN TO THE MUSIC is a tribute to the Doobie Brothers consisting of some of the best musicians and singers in Canada. These highly skilled musicians meticulously reproduce each and every great hit song live to give audiences a true experience of seeing and hearing the Doobie Brothers band perform live. You will want to see this amazing show over and over again.

PERFORMER BIOS:

Kevin O’Donnell – Drums/Vocals
Kevin has been touring with countless music groups as a singing drummer since the 70s, both original music acts and top tribute acts including well known artists such Sylvia Tyson, Lucille Starr, Tommy Hunter and Daniel Lanois. Kevin also toured with the top Eagles Tribute Band, Hotel California as their Don Henley for many years. As the founding member of LISTEN TO THE MUSIC, Kevin is the driving force behind this amazing band with his solid drumming and exceptional vocal range.

Riley O’Donnell – Guitar/Vocals
Riley is a highly skilled musician with many years of experience touring with both original music acts and top tribute acts such as Eagles Tribute, Hotel California. Riley’s exceptional guitar solos and strong vocals amaze audiences wherever he performs. Having studied both piano and guitar from a very young age, Riley also studied music at University of Waterloo. He is the musical director of LISTEN TO THE MUSIC guiding this impressive group of musicians to perform the challenging music of the Doobie Brothers to the highest standards.

James Naro – Guitar/Vocals
James is well known in the Toronto music scene for his powerful vocals and roaring guitar tones. Inspired by his father Phil Naro, the world class singer from Rochester who fronted many great rock bands including Billy Sheehan’s TALAS, James has established himself as a highly skilled musician, songwriter and a vocalist with incredible range which makes him the perfect fit for the challenging vocals of The Doobie Brothers. James Naro is a multi-talented entertainer whose energetic performances bring great excitement to any stage.

Chris Dahmer – Keys/Vocals
Chris’ 45+ year career started with extensive work on the Canadian nightclub circuit, including multiple cross-country tours with established recording artists. Three years as house keyboardist at Lulu`s Roadhouse in Kitchener, ON saw him backing up international artists – Chuck Berry, Ben E King, Peter Noone (of Herman`s Hermits) to name a few. Theatre work became a mainstay starting in the year 2000 with local and European engagements. Active in the recording world, Chris has performed on many albums and a host of radio and television sessions, both on keyboards and accordion. Music education has also played a big role, with Chris having taught at music schools in Toronto and Kitchener, as well as operating his own school in Cambridge, ON for 20+ years.

Dave Johns – Bass
Dave has enjoyed a successful career as a professional bassist in and around Toronto. He is a founding member of several bands, including the well-known Toronto R&B band The Meteors, Steely Dan tribute band Pretzel Logic, and The 905 Band, playing with each for over 20 years.

Known for his warm, mature sound, Dave has freelanced with countless musicians over the years, sharing a stage with musicians such as Hiram Bullock, Dan Aykroyd, Jim Cutty and Graham Lear. Over the past 25 years, Dave has taught bass and guitar to hundreds of students, young and old, and is currently teaching from his home studio in Burlington. He has been playing with the Burlington Symphony Orchestra since 2019, when time permits.
