The Boca Raton Garden Club will be providing a presentation on the Language of Flowers at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25 at the Glades Road Library. Floriography, as it’s also called, was a secret language where people sent coded messages using specific flowers. The topic has seen a resurgence in popularity since Kate Middelton’s wedding to Prince William. Her bridal bouquet incorporated flowers which expressed her feelings for her Prince including, of course, the Sweet William flower which means gallantry. This will be a fun PowerPoint presentation with tons of photographs dating back to Victorian times. We’ll also have examples of floral designs which demonstrate the meaning of flowers.
