JUMP FOR THE VOTE!

Wellington, Florida. Would you jump out of an airplane for what you believe? The League of Women Voters of Palm Beach County is planning to and has organized an event for Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 1:30 PM called JUMP FOR THE VOTE! at Skydive Palm Beach www.skydivepalmbeach.com, located on Flying Cow Road in Wellington. A few brave and passionate people, including Kathe Thompson, former President of the League of Women Voters of Palm Beach County, Suzannah Mullen, a newly registered PBC voter, and Sharon Bock, PBC Clerk and Comptroller will be doing a tandem jump to draw attention to the importance of the 2012 elections and to show voters and prospective voters in Palm Beach County that whether young, senior or elected official, we believe unequivocally in the privilege and responsibility of voting!
Due to limited space at the skydive site, we are confining the invitation to friends, county/civic leaders and the Media to witness the jump. Observing and available to speak to the Media will be: Tax Collector, Anne Gannon, 1st VP Greg B. Weiss and VP Peggy Kelleher of Morgan Stanley in Delray Beach (JUMP sponsors) and Greg as Chairman of the Board representing the Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce, Meredith Ockman, President of NOW, Judith Selzer, VP Planned Parenthood, Pamela Goodman, VP League of Women Voters of FL, Tana Ebbole, Executive Director of the Children’s Services Council and leaders from PBC education, business, health, and environment. All in attendance will send a strong message to PBC voters about the importance of each vote in the 2012 elections.
