Fundraiser will feature hand-made ceramics for sale, live demonstrations and multimedia presentations to benefit local art and education
Boynton Beach, FL (January 27, 2012)-- The Schoolhouse Children's Museum and Learning Center will be cohosting a meet-and-greet with the internationally acclaimed ceramicist Jeff Whyman. The event will be held at the Schoolhouse on Saturday, February 25th fr
om 4 to 7 pm.
"The Museum is very excited to collaborate with the City's Art in Public Places on this fundraising event. What a great opportunity to not only feature the works of a local artist, but also to showcase the strength of our arts and cultural community here in the Ocean Avenue area," said Amy Hever, Schoolhouse Executive Director.
Debby Coles-Dobay, Director of Art in Public Places, adds "It is an honor to have a ceramicist of this level offer his artwork for sale to benefit our programs. This will be a once in a lifetime way to personally meet an elite ceramic artist and to purchase his artwork."
Whyman will be showcasing a variety of his hand-made ceramics. Original pieces available for sale will include vases, bowls, teapots, mugs, galactic vessels and much more. He will feature live demonstrations and stream informational ceramic making videos throughout the evening. A portion of the proceeds from the ceramic sales will benefit the City's Art in Public Places 2013 Kinetic Art Exhibition and the Museum's educational programming.
Admission is free and light refreshments will be served.
