Thursday May 23, 2019
1 to 5 PM
JCBA Bindery, FAU Library
Iris folding is a 20th century Dutch paper art. Strips of plain, patterned, or decorative paper are used to design unique pictures that can be finished as greeting cards or pieces of framed art. No two pictures, even of the same design, will ever look alike. Each is unique due to the flow of pattern on paper. Workshop participants will learn the iris folding technique then make at least two pieces: two completed greeting cards or one completed greeting card and one piece suitable for framing. If time allows, there’ll be a third bonus piece. A variety of templates will be provided for participants to select from. All materials will be provided; you’ll just need to bring scissors.
