The holidays can be a particularly lonely time for many seniors. Humana, one of Florida’s leading health and wellbeing companies, is celebrating this holiday season by inviting local seniors to share a healthy, nutritious meal and good company at Humana’s neighborhood center in Delray Beach.
This event, free for all seniors and visitors to attend, is an example of Humana’s commitment to supporting the Palm Beach County community and raising awareness of food insecurity, social isolation and loneliness among area seniors – all social determinants of health that have implications on health and wellbeing.
While there are other one-time events people can participate in during the holidays, Humana’s Delray Beach neighborhood center offers a variety of health and wellness classes, including healthy cooking classes, social activities and informational seminars all year long. The programs are offered each month for members and the community at no cost. The center is open to the community Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The event will feature a buffet-style brunch with a variety of healthy foods, including options for those with food allergies, with information on nutrition and healthy eating from Humana’s Delray Beach health educator, along with a Resource Fair for visitors.
