Holy Cross Health and Broward County Public Schools are partnering to host virtual yoga and mindfulness sessions on Monday, February 14 from 8:30 to 9 a.m. and 10 to 10:30 a.m. for grades K through five and 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. and 10:45 to 11:15 a.m. for grades six through 12.
Led by Cathy Whitt, community wellness specialist for Holy Cross Health Community Health & Well-Being and certified yoga and Pilates instructor Cathy Whitt, the classes
are open to all students and staff in the Broward County School District through BECON Distance Learning. To register, log on to https://bit.ly/3GaHvBf.
Participants will learn mindfulness, soft belly breathing and self-care. By practicing mindfulness a few minutes per day, students and teachers will become proficient in concentration, creativity and self-awareness. Students should expect fun and challenging movements and stillness that requires focus and concentration.
Whitt has been teaching students and adults in the Broward County School District in person and via distance learning. A certified Diabetes Prevention Lifestyle Coach, Whitt’s priority and life mission are to share, educate and encourage the public to adopt healthy habits.
