The City of Delray Beach Parks and Recreation Department is proud to announce the grand re-opening of Hilltopper Stadium, located at 2501 N Seacrest Blvd (on the site of the old Atlantic High School). A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for August 22, 2009, at 8:30 am and the public is invited to attend this important event.
This revitalized stadium facility is home to the Delray Rocks Football League and will be ready for the upcoming 2009 season. Renovations include sod, irrigation, new bleachers, remodeled restroom facilities, freshly painted buildings and a large landscaped area for athletes and spectators.
"Everyone is very excited about the Delray Rocks having a home of their very own which was recently approved through a renewed 20 year lease agreement with the School Board of Palm Beach County to provide use of this property," stated Parks and Recreation Director Linda Karch. "The Rocks represent a big part of the Delray Beach community and completion of this facility will ensure that they remain a strong partner with the City of Delray Beach for years to come. We think the stadium looks fantastic and can't wait for opening day on August 22nd when the Delray Rocks take on the Lauderdale Lakes Vikings in action-packed games beginning at 10:00 am."
