The annual Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation (GHOF) fundraiser to financially support and bring awareness for ocean conservation is going virtual.
The 12th annual event is set for Thursday, December 3 at 8 p.m. EST on the Guy Harvey website (www.GuyHarvey.com/GHOFvirtual2020).
World-renowned artist, scientist, conservationist and entrepreneur Dr. Guy Harvey and his daughter, GHOF Project Manager Jessica Harvey, will broadcast from their home port of Grand Cayman, where they will take viewers on a tour through the year of GHOF research and education highlights and look back on Dr. Harvey’s lifetime of ocean conservation work. Viewers will get face to face with sharks, marlin and invited celebrity guests, including a special musical performance, all from the comfort of their own home.
Auction items will be available when the event kicks-off on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 8 pm EST through Sunday, Dec. 6 at 8 p.m. EST at http://bidpal.net/ghofvirtual2020. The silent auction will feature original and reproduced Guy Harvey artwork, a fishing excursion with Dr. Harvey in the Cayman Islands, fishing trips to Panama and Costa Rica, jewelry for him and her, and other unique gift items just in time for the holidays. All of the proceeds from the evening benefit the GHOF’s ocean research and education efforts.
Sponsors include Advanced Roofing, The Hudson Family Fund, Nova Southeastern University, and the Wye Foundation.
The annual fundraiser benefits the GHOF which conducts scientific research and hosts educational programs aimed at conserving the marine environment. The GHOF also funds affiliated researchers working to better understand our ocean ecosystem and educators helping to foster the next era of marine conservationists.
