The Guy Harvey Foundation (GHF) will host its 17th annual “Love The Blue Gala,” presented by Norwegian Cruise Line, on Wednesday, October 29 at the Lauderdale Yacht Club, 1725 SE 12th Street in Fort Lauderdale. Proceeds from Love the Blue benefit the Foundation’s ocean research and education initiatives.
The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner and silent and live auctions featuring original Guy Harvey artwork, exclusive trips, and unique gift items. In addition, the Foundation will pay homage to the 50th anniversary of the blockbuster film, Jaws, which was adapted from author Peter Benchley’s novel of the same name. Benchley’s wife, renowned marine and environmental conservation advocate Wendy Benchley, will be the keynote speaker, sharing her insights and experiences in continuing her late husband’s legacy of ocean stewardship.
World-renowned artist, scientist, conservationist and GHF Founder and Chair Emeritus, Dr. Guy Harvey, will join his daughter, Foundation CEO Jessica Harvey, in sharing captivating stories of their recent ocean explorations and highlighting a year that was marked by groundbreaking research and transformative education initiatives. Two honorees who have made significant contributions to ocean conservation and marine science education will also be recognized.
