Boca Raton FL – Boca Ballet Theatre’s Community Outreach Program BBT4PD (Boca Ballet Theatre for Parkinson’s Disease) holds free movement classes on Monday and Thursday from 1:00pm to 2:30pm and there is space available. The BBT4PD dance classes for those living with Parkinson’s disease and their caregiver is in its 7th amazing season of movement based classes and the participants are loving it!
Each class flows with constant energy, led by Boca Ballet Theatre BBT4PD Director, Cindy Surman who is a Certified Dance for PD® instructor. This is significant since there are only seven people in the entire nation that have received this designation. The co-director and instructor Dennis Lue, who trained with Dance for PD®, and is an accomplished Broadway actor and dance professional, also choreographs dance pieces for the classes.
The benefits of this special program for those living with Parkinson's are immeasurable, both physically and mentally. The support the students bring to each other is a social and emotional bonus that is priceless. Classes are open to anyone with Parkinson’s, no matter their age, ability, or the advancement of their condition and are FREE of charge due to the generous support this year from Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation, Rotary Club Downtown and individuals like Emmett & Joan Hammond, Ron Schwartz, Brian Bodlander and Patrice Kabram, and many others that are so important to the program.
