YMCA of South Florida and the University of Miami Wolfson Department of Community Service will host a FREE health fair for all to attend on Saturday, August 27th from 8 to 3 p.m. at the L.A. Lee YMCA/Mizell Community Center, 1409 NW 6th St., in Fort Lauderdale.
Services include: breast exams; blood pressure measurement; child health education; pap smears; emergency preparedness; physical therapy; testing for blood sugar/diabetes, cholesterol and vision and glaucoma; and screenings for skin care, mental health, HIV/hepatitis, colon cancer, dental, dementia and men’s health.
Anyone testing for blood sugar, diabetes and cholesterol should not eat or drink anything except medications and water for 8 hours prior. Those who want a pap smear should arrive before noon. Individuals who have recently had COVID19 symptoms should not attend. The public is invited regardless of any legal or insurance status.
