What do archaeologists know about life in Florida, and what evidence do they have? This course will explore 14,000 years of South Florida's buried past through photographs of recent archaeological work and an informative, engaging lecture focusing on archaeological sites located right here in South Florida. How do archaeologists use the scientific method to learn about the past, and what can we do now to ensure archaeological sites are protected as Floridians build a resilient future? This lecture will examine material recovered from archaeological sites and explore the impact of climate change on archaeological and other cultural sites.
