The inaugural Food is Medicine Jumpstart Session—hosted by Holy Cross Health, Florida Health and Nutrition Coalition and the South Florida Hunger Coalition—will feature keynote speaker Dr. Scott Angle, University of Florida interim provost and national food is medicine pioneer.
Learn about culinary medicine during a roundtable discussion with Holy Cross Health, UF IFAS Extension, Healthy Teaching Kitchen VA, Living Hungry,the American Heart Association and The Poverello Center, a pantry that provides nutritious food and essential items to individuals living with critical and chronic illnesses. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet elected officials who support Florida’s Food is Medicine Bill.
The event is FREE for everyone. One hundred in-person attendees will jumpstart their morning with a healthy breakfast and 500 additional people are invited to attend virtually via Zoom.
