Fire-Rescue Open House Station 1, Fire Rescue Headquarters 501 West Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach Saturday, May 8, 2010 10:00 am - 1:00 pm The event will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Fire-Rescue Headquarters, 501 West Atlantic Avenue, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. Visit Fire-Rescue Headquarters during the Open House Health and Wellness event on Saturday, May 8th. Meet Delray Beach firefighters, tour the vehicles housed at the station and watch live demonstrations of The Jaws of Life and high angle rope rescue techniques, and witness a real-time EMS medical scenario. Representatives from the American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, Delray Beach Medical Center, Community Emergency Response Team, Fire Explorer Program and various health organizations will be available to provide information, answer questions and conduct limited health screenings. Refreshments will be served. At 11:00 am, Chief David C. James will recognize five individuals during an Awards Ceremony for their selfless acts to save others.
