Clay Glass Metal Stone Cooperative Gallery Presents Figuratively Speaking – A Celebration of the Human Form And a Salute to Bastille Day- A French Wine Tasting Opening Friday July 16, 6 PM to 9 PM Figuratively Speaking, an exploration of the many art forms comprised in the Celebration of The Human Form will take place at the July 16 opening exhibit of Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery, 605 Lake Avenue in downtown Lake Worth. The opening will take place from 6-9 PM. The exhibit will be on display from July 16 to July 28th. Throughout history, the embellishment of the human body has been considered the most personal of art forms. From our earliest images of Cleopatra to societies throughout the world we have seen the human body used as a canvas for artistic expression. Award winning Guest artist, Georgette Pressler of Devious Body Art, will demonstrate live body painting, a continuation of this expressive enhancement of the body. The artists of Clay Glass Metal Stone gallery have celebrated the human form through each of the mediums expressed in the gallery name. Throw in Wood and the Fiber Arts and you have a full mix of three dimensional figurative expression that permeates the gallery. The uniqueness of expression spans Folk Art, Abstract Realism, Surrealism and Funk. All blend into a symphony of bodies, body parts and tales of bodies; a celebration of the human life form. Visitors to the opening wearing “blank” clothing will become the canvases for artists’ interaction with guests throughout the evening. Artists Marsha Christo, Amelia Costa, John McCoy and Tracy Rosof-Petersen will be creating art directly onto the clothes being worn by visitors and patrons of the gallery. Wear solid colors and natural fibers and become a live part of the show. All printing materials are non-toxic and washable. To celebrate Bastille Day the gallery will be featuring a variety of French wines. There will be a French Film Festival taking place at the Lake Worth Playhouse theater up the street. A wine and cheese tasting takes place at every opening. Clay•Glass•Metal•Stone Cooperative Gallery is sponsored by the Flamingo Clay Studio, a non-profit arts organization whose mission is to provide affordable studio and gallery space for three-dimensional artists. The gallery is located at 605 Lake Avenue in downtown Lake Worth. Gallery openings are the first and third Friday of each month from 6-9PM. For information call 215-205-9441.
