About the Event: The Norton Museum of Art celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival again this year, with music, art activities, tours, Chinese food and more. Kids can create a Chinese lantern and learn about the legends behind this popular Chinese holiday. Artists demonstrate the art of Chinese painting, and perform on the Chinese zither, known as the gu-zheng. Lectures, gallery talks and tours will introduce visitors to diverse Chinese artistic traditions. This event is held in celebration of the Museum’s Chinese collection and the special exhibition On the Silk Road and High Seas: Chinese Ceramics, Culture and Commerce. All programs are free with Museum admission.
The Fifth Annual Chinese Moon Festival is made possible through the generosity of John and Heidi Niblack and The Leonard and Sophie Davis Foundation, Inc.
