Imagine a world powered by solar or wind! Asking questions about energy use and exploring potential alternatives to fossil fuels brings us one step closer to that possibility. In “The Stories We Tell About Climate Change and Energy,” Stacey Balkan, PhD, discusses alternatives to petroleum, survival in the face of extreme global climate changes, fossil fuel use history, Anthropocene origins and making a difference. Dr. Balkan is assistant professor of Environmental Literature and Humanities and an affiliate faculty member of FAU’s Peace, Justice, and Human Rights Initiative. Register for her engaging presentation on Thursday, April 18, 2:00pm, at the Downtown Library, through the calendar at bocalibrary.org or by calling the library at 561-393-7852.
