Delray GreenMarket 14th Annual Chili Cook-Off

February 1, 2011:  Chopped onions, chili powder and a generous portion of fun make for a wonderful recipe at this year's Annual Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, February 19th, at the Delray GreenMarket, located along the street on SE 4th Avenue, just south of Atlantic Avenue.  Veteran and novice chefs are invited to take up their ladles from 10:00 am until noon to flaunt their culinary talents.  Tasting is always free and chili lovers will delight in the assortment of homemade recipes.

The Chili Cook-Off gains popularity with locals and out-of-towners each year.  From Traditional to Vegetarian to New Age, entries are sampled and voted on by judges and market goers.  Competition is fierce as cooks vie for the Chef's Choice and the People's Choice awards.  Trophies and bragging rights are awarded to winners for their creative concoctions in a variety of categories.

The GreenMarket offers the finest in produce, baked goods, flowers, plants and organic foods every Saturday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Weekly musical entertainment and special events occur at this outdoor market through May 2011.
