Important and Timely Preventing Cyberbullying Luncheon To Be Held At Safe Schools Institute Bullying is an issue in the news and on the minds of educators, administrators, students and parents throughout Palm Beach County and the nation. The Rodd D. Brickell Foundation, the Palm Beach County Council PTA and the School District of Palm Beach County are sponsoring a FREE Preventing Cyberbullying Luncheon Saturday, October 23rd from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Safe School Institute in Boca Raton. Special guest speakers are Chief Learning Officer Ann Killets, School District of Palm Beach County and Representative Ellyn Bogdanoff, Florida House of Representatives. Participants will: · Increase their understanding and awareness about cyberbullying and its potential for violence; · Understand how cyberbullying occurs and its unique features; · Explore the connections between cyberbullying, bias-motivated behavior and online hate activities; · Learn what we as parents can do to prevent cyberbullying; · Learn what we can teach our children; · Learn strategies on how to respond; and · Be better prepared to foster an increase culture of e-safety.
