The concert features Umezaki's (Cycles) what falls must rise, Angel Lam's Empty Mountain, Spirit Rain, Takuma Itoh's Faded Aura and Copland's Appalachian Spring. The New York Times has described Umezaki as a "virtuosic, deeply expressive shakuhachi player and composer." He is internationally recognized for blending traditional Japanese music with contemporary and cross-cultural performance styles. A Pre-Concert Conversation is included for ticket holders.
