“Cool Reggae” Summer Night in Delray Beach
Rescheduled from July 23 to July 30
Music, Art Event in Pineapple Grove Arts District
With a tropical storm looming in the Atlantic Ocean, the “Cool Reggae” Summer Nights in Delray Beach event planned for Friday, July 23, has been rescheduled for July 30.
Open to the public at no cost, the 7-10pm Pineapple Grove Arts District block party will stretch along NE 2nd Avenue between NE 1st and NE 2nd Streets. Ellis Island will provide the “cool reggae” music --- and the Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency will provide dessert in celebration of its 25th anniversary.
Also planned are a children’s art project, a palm frond artist, complimentary appetizers from Taste Gastropub and dance demonstrations from Virtuous Productions.
“With heavy rain being forecast for all day on July 23 for South Palm Beach County, it was decided that the best action was to reschedule this event,” said Sarah Martin, Executive Director of the Downtown Marketing Cooperative, Inc., the agency that produces the Summer Nights in Delray Beach series.
In addition to the July 30 Cool Reggae block party, upcoming Summer Nights in Delray Beach block party events include:
Summertime Blues at the new SW 5th Avenue Plaza on August 6.
Kicking Country in the 500 East Atlantic Avenue block on August 27.
Fat Friday --- marking the halfway point to Mardi Gras – at Atlantic Avenue and A1A on September 3.
Summer Nights events are produced by the Delray Beach Downtown Marketing Cooperative, Inc., and presented by the Community Redevelopment Agency and the Sun Sentinel. Other event sponsors are Sunny 104.3FM and Delray Honda.
