"CHURCH OF THE PALMS 50th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION  --  January is the beginning of  a year of Church activities celebrating 50 years since the founding of Church of the Palms,  1960 N Swinton Ave, Delray Beach.  On Sunday, January 30 at 10 am, the first 50th Anniversary celebration service will be conducted in the Church sanctuary.  All are invited.  Senior Pastor Roger Richardson will offer a sermon of praise in appreciation of the Church of the Palms Charter Members who saw a need 50 years ago for a Congregational Church in the Delray Beach area, and worked diligently to fulfill that need.  The renowned Church of the Palms choir under the direction of Mr Edward Krynicki, along with pianist Elaine Reinhardt, will provide the music.  Past and present Delray Beach city officials and Palm Beach County Commissioner Priscilla Taylor have been invited to this celebration service.  Immediately following the service, a reception will be held in the Church Friendship Center.  During the reception, Church of the Palms Historian Lois Clement will display an exhibit of scrapbooks tracing the Church history from 1961 to the present.  A small notebook which includes the chronological history of the Church, some of its activities, and a list of its current and past leaders will be distributed to those who attend this event.   For more information, call the Church office at 561-276-6347"  >>>>>  Submitted by Frank Nikischer, Sr,  Chairman of Publicity Committee, Church of the Palms,  home phone 561-274-6782 ---  Senior Pastor:  The Rev Dr Roger P Richardson,  Church of the Palms, phone:  561-276-6347;   email:  churchofthepalms@bellsouth.net
